Cordell Robert McGirt, 35, passed away August 18th, 2022, in Tulsa, OK. Cordell was born on January 18th, 1987, in Tahlequah, OK, to Chester Eugene and Lilly Hadley (Powell) McGirt. Cordell played football during Junior High and played baseball during the summer time. He graduated from Eufaula High School in 2007. Cordell worked as a Surveillance officer, then went to work at Walmart for a little while. He then worked at Whirlpool where he made lasting friendships with his coworkers. Before he passed, he had started a new job at Zeeco in Broken Arrow and was excited to see where it led him in his career. Cordell enjoyed spending time with his children and family. He enjoyed playing video games, fishing, hanging out with friends. He enjoyed watching Thunder Basketball, Penn State Football, OKC Dodgers, Tulsa Drillers, and Cincinnati Reds baseball. He enjoyed going to the race tracks and he admired street cars. He loved going to Powwows and traveling to visit family. He loved his food and his favorite foods were Street Tacos, Buffalo Wings, Powwow dogs and Indian Tacos. Cordell is survived by his son, Dominic McGirt of Houston, TX; daughters, Jordyn McGirt and Shyanne McGirt both of Houston, TX; mother, Lilly Powell of Eufaula, OK; sisters, Gina Locust of Gore, OK and Maddison McGirt; brothers, Arnold Brown of Arizona and Lewis Mcgirt of Gore, OK. He is preceded in death by his father, Chester McGirt; brother, Marcus McGirt; grandparents, Betty Mae McGirt, Mark and Rose Hadley; uncles, Mike McGirt, Sampson Hadley and Earnest Hadley; aunt, Marie Yazzie; and nieces, Charlotte and Taryne Locust.
