Gerald Ray Jackson

January 28, 1947 — July 30, 2016

Gerald was born on January 28, 1947, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the son of Thomas Leroy and Virginia Rosalee (Blaylock) Jackson. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 18, 1967 serving in Vietnam. Gerald received several honors including the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation Badge, the Expert Award on the Machine Gun, the Parachutist Badge, the Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver Service Star, the Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Honor Medal, the First Class Unit Citation Badge, the Bronze Star, the Sharpshooter Qualification Badge with Rifle and Automatic Rifle Bars, the Combat Infantry Badge and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged on June 6, 1969. On April 1, 1970, Gerald married Marina Joyce Berkley in Gainesville, Texas. They were happily married for 46 years. He was retired. Survivors include: his wife, Marina, of the home; his son, John Thomas "J.T." Jackson and wife Kathy of Norman; daughter, Michelle Jackson of Eufaula; sister, Marta Sue Jackson Lowe of Oklahoma City and four grandchildren, Anthony, Logan, Skylar and Katlyn. He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Terry Ray Jackson.
