Janice Kay Cook

Janice was born on November 5, 1955, in Altus, Oklahoma the daughter of Tracy Lee and Sue (Dunegan) Morgan. She graduated from Eufaula High School in 1974. She received her Licensed Practical Nurse"s license from the Kiamichi Vo-Tech Nursing program in 1980. She worked as an LPN for thirty-four years. On May 25, 1973, Janice married Gene Ray Cook at the Oak Ridge Mission in Longtown, Oklahoma. They were happily married for 43 years. Janice loved being a pastor"s wife. She worked with the youth and cooked for them at the youth camps. She also enjoyed photography. Her main love was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was often seen at her grandchildren"s sporting and school events cheering them on, even arranging her medical appointments to make sure she didn"t miss the important events. Survivors include: her husband, Gene, of the home; her son, Caleb Cook and wife Megan; her daughters, Charity Brady and husband Sean, Angelia Yandell and husband Dane, Kristel Hickman and husband James; her mother, Sue Morgan; her brothers, David Morgan and wife Cindy of Tyler, TX, Scott Morgan and wife Susan of McAlester; her sister, Lea Ann Cook and husband Wayne of Stidham; fourteen grandchildren, Garren Yandell, Trett Yandell, Kolin Brady, Morgan Yandell, Damian McAuley, Jax Hickman, Emma Brady, Thadan Yandell, Jana Hickman, Quinn Brady, Tandon Yandell, Jasper Hickman, Haven Cook and Skylar Kay Cook. She is preceded in death by her father, Tracy Morgan, a brother-in-law, Lance Garrison and a mother-in-law, Floretta Williams. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stidham Baptist Church Youth Building.
