Barbara Ann Hicks

Barbara A. Hicks,84, of Canadian, Oklahoma, peacefully passed from this life on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at her home in Canadian, surrounded by family. Barbara was born on November 6, 1941 in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Raymond Walter Petersen and Georgia Agnes (Capps) Petersen. Barbara grew up in Choctaw and graduated from Choctaw High School in 1959. She became a military Army wife to Lynndall J. Wolfe and moved to Virginia and Maryland, where she became a flower designer. She had a career in the floral industry for thirty-five years. Later in life she married Donnie Ray Hicks of Choctaw, Oklahoma on February 29, 2004, in Midwest City, Oklahoma at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and they moved to Canadian, Oklahoma to enjoy retirement at Lake Eufaula.

Barbara Ann loved flowers and enjoyed showing off her talent in design shows and entering floral competitions. She also enjoyed painting, writing poems, ancestry research, bird wataching, yard sales, antique s tores, traveling and flying as a co-pilot. Barbara Ann was a social butterfly and she enjoyed attending her class reunions and ladies group. Barbara loved the Lord and was baptized on December 7, 2014 and became a 7th Day Sabbath Keeper.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Tracy Lynn Weir and spouse Leo Dave Weir of Mannford, Oklahoma, and daughter Kelly Ann Munn and spouse Richard Raymond Munn of Canadian, Oklahoma, her brother Raymond W. Petersen Jr. of Midwest City and sister Patricia L. Bradley of Oklahoma City, four grandchildren Cassandra Staley and spouse Jeremy Staley, Lindsey Smith and Cameron Smith and 7 great grandchildren Malaya Rush, Leyton Staley, Rayla Staley, Wyatt Smith, Emma Smith, Paisley Smith and step-grandson Reuben Weir..

Barbara Ann is preceded in death by her mother Georgia (Capps) Petersen King, her parents Raymond and Faith Petersen, her husband's Lynndall Wolfe and Donnie Hicks, sister Linda Petersen and grandson Phillip Morris.
