Barbara Lou Pendley, 82, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, peacefully passed from this life on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee surrounded by family and friends including Pastor Roger Burns and his wife, Sharon. Barbara was born on October 30, 1943 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Eston and Wynema (Urquhart) Harris.
Barbara graduated from Northeastern State University with a Bachelors Degree in Education in 1966 and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education in 1969. She was a beloved first-grade teacher for 36 years at Jefferson Davis Elementary and Dixie Elementary Schools. Barbara married Jack Pendley on June 2, 1973. She was a faithful member of the First Church of God in Eufaula where she served as song leader.
Barbara is survived by her sister Betty Duke and husband Roger, nephews Barry Woods and Roger Duke II, nieces Alicia Stobbe, Anita Woods, Sherry Zopp and Tammy Piazza, and by 11 great and 9 great great nephews and nieces. Barbara is also survived by her step daughters Jackie Sue Davidson and husband Jerry of Checotah, Sara Lummus and husband Jim of San Angelo, TX, Jeanne Stoops of Tulsa and Linda Umholtz and husband Robert of Morris, grandchildren Lahoma Davidson, Nathan Davidson and wife Lindsey, Jay Lummus and Jon Lummus, Melinda Christian, Michael Layman and wife Joyce, Dianne Rippy and husband Toney, Donna Ringgold and husband Curtis, Susie Berry and husband Wesley and Melissa Todd and husband Ted, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Pendley, her parents Eston and Wynema Harris and a sister Modene Woods. ,
