Billy Eugene Fortune

Billy Eugene Fortune, 67, of Checotah, Ok., passed from this life on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at home. Billy was born on May 28,1958 in McFarland, California, to Edgar Allen Fortune and Carol Virginia (Moore) Fortune. Billy married Janet Heinlein on April 30, 1993 in Oklahoma City, Ok. and together they shared thirty-two years of marriage.

Billy is survived by his wife Janet of the home; two daughters; Candace Johnson and husband Allen of Moore, Ok., Meagan Lassiter of Moore, Ok. Stepdaughter; Amber Kelley and husband George Guyer. One brother; Curtis Fortune of Oklahoma City, Ok., One sister; Karen Fortune of North Carolina. Six grandchildren; Trey Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Davion Johnson, Grayson Guyer, Griffin Guyer and Tracy Hire.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents; one sister; Bobbie Richardson and one brother; Terry Fortune.
