Clayton was born on February 20, 1932 in Bower, Oklahoma to Tom and Beulah (Hart) McNeely. He attended school at Lindsey Chapel and Union Grove-Pulltight. On June 20, 1951, Clayton married Velma Lee Barry, who preceded him in death in 1994. They were happily married for over forty-three years. He served in the United States Army from June 23, 1953 to June 20, 1961. Clayton worked as a minister for over fifty years. He ministered at Deere"s Chapel Full Gospel Church for over thirty years. He also worked as a rancher. Clayton later married Betty Joyce Emerson on October 25, 1997. Survivors include: his wife, Betty McNeely, of the home; son, Dr. Jeffery Clayton McNeely, of Lubbock, TX; daughter, Tina Faulkner and husband, Tracey, of Wamego, KS; brother, James "Bo" McNeely, of Clovis, CA; three grandchildren: Jonathan Schmidtlein, Mason, and Maddy McNeely; and one great grandchild, Easton Schmidtlein. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Velma McNeely; one daughter, Pamela Sue McNeely; three brothers: Junior McDonald, Carl McNeely, and Bill McNeely; seven sisters: Ruth Ott, Norma Macomber, Lona Hairod, Maureen Johnson; Ada Ott, Hazel Williams, and Velma Dollins.
