Christopher Clint Burton, 67, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, peacefully passed from this life on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at his home. Clint, also known as “Pops,” was born on November 23, 1958, in Eufaula, Oklahoma, to Sonny Burton and Christine Woodard Shaver. He was proud to be from Eufaula and carried that pride throughout his life. During his younger years, he played football for the Eufaula Ironheads, proudly wearing jersey #21. After graduating high school, he attended Northeastern State University for two years before returning home.
Once back in Eufaula, Clint discovered his passion for cooking. He shared that gift with many, working as a cook at JMS Restaurant, Gators, Fountainhead Lodge, and the Salty Pelican. He had a natural talent in the kitchen and loved bringing people together through food. He was also known as “Masta Jam” when he stepped behind the DJ booth, where his charismatic and charming personality always stood out.
Clint lived life to the fullest, with no regrets. He was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and held his faith close. More than anything, he loved his family. He cherished his children, and his grandchildren meant the world to him. Some of the best memories were made barbecuing on the balcony of his apartment, surrounded by family, often with a drink in his hand and laughter all around. He also loved watching football, WWE wrestling, and westerns.
Clint is survived by his lifelong partner, Renita; his sons: Thomas and wife Rena, Jason, Chance and wife Megan, and Christopher; his daughters: Courtney, Jallisa, Adrianna, Breyon, and Kananadis; one brother, Norman Shaver and wife Kelly; forty-four grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his special nephew, Lance Harper; his special friend, Henry; his best friend, Earl Shaver; a host of nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Shaver; one brother, William “Arnie” Shaver; his daughter, Raven Burton; and his aunt, Mable Bowie.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Jr., Chris, Lance, Sabin, D’Mari, and Chance.
Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Sr., Jason, Earl, Johnny, Braylen, Zayvion, and Keontay.
Flower girls are Stella, Rose (“Fuzzy”), Corine, and Carolyn.
His memory will be carried on by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Clint was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.
This is not goodbye… it’s “see you later, Pops.”
