Darla Jean Engelbrecht

July 2, 1964 — November 20, 2020

Darla Jean (Roth) Engelbrecht, a special angel and friend to every person she met, passed on from this life on November 20, 2020 at the age of 56. She was born July 2, 1964 to Alois Joseph and Shirley Roth in Muskogee, OK. She graduated from Muskogee High School in 1982. She married the love of her life, Tom Engelbrecht, on July 22, 1983. She had a giving spirit known by all. She had three children, Kelcie, John, and Keelie, and loved nothing more than being a mother. There were few things she enjoyed more than her kids, grandchildren, dogs (Aggie, Sony, Lizzie, Goose, Mich, Reagan, and Doc), and OSU football. She was active with St. Joseph Catholic Church. She always wore orange. Darla loved her family well. She taught them the definition of tremendous love and unending dedication. She gave her family each other, as the greatest gift she could leave with them. No one in her path was excluded. It started with her own family and siblings, continued during her laughter-filled 37-year marriage, extended to her large group of very special friends, and grew even more with the arrival of her granddaughters. Somehow, she even had the energy to find a way to love every stranger, waitress, office person, or nurse that she encountered too - all of which she considered family. In every interaction, she made her family stronger and bigger, giving them the support system they needed and the courage to go out into the world to be and do good. (Thank you, Momma) She is preceded in death by her father and sister-in-law Linda Roth. She is survived by her husband Tom, her children Kelcie and Andrew Eaton, John Engelbrecht, and Keelie Engelbrecht, all of Muskogee; grandchildren Jentry and Kennedy Eaton; mother Shirley Roth, sister Quaye Milan (Terry), brother Spencer Roth (Missy); mother-in-law Jean Beard; custer Regina Vaughn; best friend in life Suzanne Murray, and many nieces and nephews that were very dear to her. A private Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Muskogee and buried at Greenhill Cemetery under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory. Plans will be announced in the future for a public gravesite blessing in the Summer 2021. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Joesph Catholic Church and do something kind today. Please visit www.hbmfuneralhome.com to make online condolences and to view the Mass from home.
