An amazing woman, Darlene Wood, passed away on June 22, 2026, at the age of 70. She was born in Pittsfield, Mass. on May 13th, 1956 to Theodore Homer Wood and Doris Edith Olney. Her family moved to Oklahoma in 1965 where they made their home in the Enterprise area.
Darlene was the loving mother of four children of her own and one bonus daughter, and she loved each of them dearly. She was also the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Naomi Klumpp and her husband, Eddie, of McAlester, Oklahoma; Jamie Ritter-Davis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Eric Ritter and his wife, Tonisha, of Eufaula, Oklahoma; Joshua Ritter of Longtown, Oklahoma; and Darla Pierson and her husband, Randy Edwards, of Ada, Oklahoma.
Darlene is also survived by her brothers, Ted Wood and his wife, Mia, of California, and Jeff Wood and his wife, Brenda, of Choctaw, Oklahoma; and her sisters, Debra Rogers of Poteau, Oklahoma, Paula Lloyd and her husband, Glenn, of Summerfield, Oklahoma, Dora Heathcock and her husband, Kevin, of Shady Point, Oklahoma, and Pam Woolsey and her husband, Gary, of Pocola, Oklahoma. Nothing made Darlene smile brighter than having a grandbaby on her lap. She was known for helping anyone in need and was considered a true friend by many. She loved horses and her two little dogs, and no matter what she had going on, she always put the needs of others first. Those who knew her well will remember that she was strong-willed and set in her ways, but above all, she loved with her whole heart.
Darlene will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Her love, strength, kindness, and unforgettable spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind, and no one could ever take her place.
