Doris Ann Jones, aged 87, of Stidham, Oklahoma, left this world peacefully on August 18, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 2, 1938 in Texanna, Oklahoma, to Leslie Macom and Maudie Lee (Hampton) Macom, and was the youngest of sixteen children.
Doris married Bobby Jones on December 2, 1954, and together they built a life filled with love and commitment. She found fulfillment in her work for the Latimer County News and the Indian Journal in Eufaula. Doris was a devoted member of the Little Coweta Baptist Church, where she cherished her community and faith.
Doris was known for her warm smile, welcoming hello, her infectious laughter and her unwavering love for her family.
Doris was adored and loved by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always made her family a priority and worked very hard throughout her life.
Doris loved to spoil her grandchildren and treated each one as if they were her very favorite. She was the heart of the family. She loved frequent family gatherings with extended family and friends, including great nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Doris planted seeds of love with all her family & friends. Her love of life continues within each of her children and grandchildren.
Doris is survived by her daughters; Paula Hawkins and husband Gary of Jenks, Bobbie Gail Self of Stidham, and Shelly Hunter of Fort Gibson. She also leaves behind her sons, Jack Jones of Tecumseh and Tim Jones of Stidham; along with a legacy of love represented by her fourteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and twenty great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Leslie and Maudie Lee. her beloved husband, Bobby Ray Jones; granddaughter Tessa Doyle and her sons in law Chris Self and Ron Hunter. Doris was the youngest of sixteen children, she was the last surviving sibling.
Doris will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
