Elizabeth Ann Meyer

First born to Dillard Elwood and Betty Lou (Dudark) Woods and sister to Charles David Woods. Both she and her brother were sickly children while living in Arizona and did not get better until the parents decided to come home to Oklahoma when she was 9.

Living in the country east of Checotah, Oklahoma, seemed to agree with both children and both blossomed. Both graduated the eighth grade at Central High School east of their home and then went to finish high school at Checotah.

Elizabeth graduated there in 1972 with honors and went to Connors State College at Warner, Oklahoma, to pursue a degree in education. She graduated there in 1974 with honors and transferred to Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, Ok. ,graduating there 1976 with a BA in high school English education.

In June of 1976, she married William Paul Cannon, Jr. and moved to Dallas, Tx., where he was employed. Of this union, two children were born Christina Lee Cannon and William Paul Cannon, III.

Divorce struck this family 16 years later. Moving to Carmen, Oklahoma, to be near her Mother, Dad and only brother and his family, she became employed by Alfalfa County Bank in Cherokee, Oklahoma and flourished always trusting in the Lord.

Elizabeth married John Albert Meyer in September 1996! They spent many happy years together and made many great memories!

Elizabeth was fortunate enough to travel to many spots in our great country thanks to her loving parents and both husbands! She visited all of the Oklahoma State Parks, fourteen of our country's National Parks, eight caves in several different states, five amusement parks in several different states, six zoos in several different states plus numerous museums in several different states and two cruises!!! It's no wonder she died, she was worn out!

Elizabeth is survived by her loving children; Grand Boy, Axton Reign Cannon; her brother, David Woods and his wife, Terri; nephews, Jerad Woods and his wife, Anna, and their children, Leah, Autum and Blake; and Chad Woods; plus numerous other relatives and friends!
