J.J. Garretson

Fern Josette "J.J." Garretson, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at her home. Fern was born on January 19, 1939, in Borger, Texas the daughter of Edson and Georgia Claudette (Selby) Watson. In 1957, J.J. married James Richard Buckles. They were married for sixteen years. On August 15, 1980, J.J. married Gaylon Dean Garretson in Ventura, California. They were married for twenty-eight years. Gaylon preceded her in death on March 11, 2009. J.J. was a member of the Lake Eufaula Christian Church. Survivors include: her sons, Joe Dale Buckles and wife Jean Myers of Eufaula, OK and Tim J. Buckles and wife Letha of Eufaula, OK, Richard Garretson and wife Rebecca of Rowlett, TX and Steven Garretson and wife Lisa of Garland, TX; her daughter, Julie Buckles of Fort Collins, CO; her sister, Freda Janette of Sacramento, CA; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a step daughter, Elena Stennis and one grandson, Jacob.
