John was born on February 16, 1944 in Denton, Kansas to Victor Lily and Ethel Iona (Black) Robbins. He was raised in Denton, Kansas, where he drove a truck cross country for thirty years. John enlisted in the United States Army and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. In 1987, he married Elizabeth Ann Fisher. John spent the last twenty-six years working on the Fisher Ranch. He worked as a saddle maker, leather craftsman, and also worked as a farrier. John was a member of the Vivian Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife, Ann Robbins, of the home; father, Victor Robbins, of Tarko, MO; two sons: Brian and Victor; four daughters: Rhonda, Jackie, JoAnn, and Carman, all of Indiana; one sister, Mary Etta Shears; and a host of grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Robbins; brothers: Frank, Michael, Tony, and Sonny; and sisters: Vivian and Lola Star.
