Mary Elizabeth Hoskins, born June 12, 1976, in Liberal, KS, passed away on November 8, 2025, of natural causes. She was under a doctor's care for several years and faced her health challenges with remarkable strength and grace. Mary was in a loving relationship with her boyfriend, Destri Belcher, a successful telecommunications professional known for his easy-going personality. Together, they shared many joyful moments. She was the daughter of Jim and Gwen Hoskins, who raised her in a nurturing environment. Jim, an assistant manager at Safeway grocery store, later moved the family back to Oklahoma City, OK. Mary is survived by her father, Jim, who is now retired and resides in Checotah, Ok. With his girlfriend Sandee Scroggins. Mary is also survived by her brother, James Hoskins of Vinita, OK and her step grandmother, Dorothy Weston.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Gwendolyn Elizabeth Hoskins, in 2019, as well as her grandparents, William Edward Hoskins, Medora Jane Hoskins. Mary Jane Odom, and Paul C. Weston. She is also preceded in death by her Aunt, Jean Hoskins and her Uncle, Harold Hoskins and her Aunt Renee Hash.
Mary is survived by several cousins, including Amber Normandon of Ciobolo Tx. and Deanne Dixon of Oklahoma City, OK, and Clint Stoy of Iola, KS. Several other family members who played significant roles in her life also preceded her, including her great-aunt, Helen Weston, who dedicated over 50 years to playing the organ in their family church in Del City, OK. Mary is survived by her children: Cassandra Woodford of Phoenix, AZ; Anthony Romero of Albuquerque, NM; and Haven Lewis of Oklahoma City, OK, and two uncles; Steve and Mark Weston, along with several young grandchildren. Mary's life was filled with love and creativity. She enjoyed cooking, tending to her vibrant garden, and caring for her beloved cats and exotic tropical fish. Her passion for arts and crafts often led her to the dollar store, where she found joy in simple projects. She worked for over 20 years at Sonic restaurants and held various positions in grocery stores and a submarine sandwich shop in Kingman, AZ, where she lived for nine years. Mary was known for her warm heart and pleasant personality, always staying connected with her family and friends through daily communication, especially on Facebook.
Mary enjoyed helping her boyfriend garden and they enjoyed several pets together. Destri stated that it was easy loving Mary, because she was perfect. Her sudden passing has left a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew her. Mary Elizabeth Hoskins was a beautiful person, both inside and out, whose loving spirit will be dearly missed. May she rest in peace.
