Richard Lawrence Melton

Richard Lawrence Melton, 56, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026 in Tulsa. Richard was born on April 3, 1970, in McAlester, Oklahoma, the son of Larry Junior and Ethel Louise (Frank) Melton. He graduated from Claremore High School in 1988 and received his associates degree in law. Richard worked at Zebco for over 10 years. He enjoyed listening to music, watching tv and spending time with his family. Richard was an avid OU Football fan and also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Survivors include his sister, Tina Melton, of Tulsa; uncles George Marshall of Eufaula and Dewayne Marshall of Welling; aunts May Marshall of Okmulgee and Leah Marshall of Eufaula. He is also survived by his niece Emily Jungwirth of Tulsa, nephew Jordan Melton of White Oak, Texas; great nieces Amiyah Melton of Sand Springs and Aliviyah Melton of White Oak, Texas.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents Larry and Ethel Melton; grandparents Alfred Frank and Polly Marshall and Mr. and Mrs. Lymon Melton; aunts, Lucille Ward, Eloise Ahtone and Polly Ann Marshall; uncles Samuel Marshall Jr., John Marshall and Guymon Marshall.
