Ruby Evelyn Armstrong, 78, of Woodward, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, September 28, 2022, in Tulsa. Ruby was born on February 5, 1944, in Sarasota, Florida, the daughter of Edward Brown and Ruby Lucille (Hickman) Dix. She graduated from Spiro High School in 1962. She received her Masters Degree in Education from Southeastern University. On May 28, 1972, Ruby married Johnny Armstrong. They were happily married fifty years. Ruby was a school teacher for 31 years with the last 20 at Marietta Elementary School in Marietta. She retired in 2001. Ruby was inducted into the Oklahoma Teacher's Hall of Fame. She enjoyed reading, arranging her Snoopys and spending time with her friends and family. Ruby was known as Ninny to all her grandchildren. She touched the lives of a thousand students, over a hundred nieces, nephews, and all who knew her. Ruby was a member of the North Fork Baptist Church in Eufaula. She was always active in church and the first to remind you that "God is in control" and "this too shall pass".
Survivors include: her husband, Johnny of the home; daughters, Earin McAtee and husband Brant of Rosston, OK, Dellen Fletcher and husband Andy of Wichita, KS; sisters, Barbara Hall of N. Johnson City, TN and Nancy Remus and husband Carl of Broken Arrow, OK; and four grandchildren, Banr Fletcher, Jarrett McAtee, Kayden McAtee and Lakin McAtee. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles William Brown.
