Sonya Marie Pettit

Sonya Marie Pettit, 82, of Eufaula, OK passed from this life on Friday, December 13, 2024, in Ft. Worth, TX. She was born on January 7, 1942, in Independence, KS to Clarence Sexton & Ethel Louise (Cook) Sexton. Sonya married Walter Lee Pettit on June 13, 1960, in Independence, KS and together they shared sixty-four years until Walter's passing in 2024. Sonya worked for & retired from AT&T. Sonya was a devoted member of the Lake Eufaula Christian Church where she was always willing to lend a helping hand whether it be quilting, crocheting, cooking or a warm hug, she was loved by all. Sonya enjoyed spending time with family, going fishing, boating and her beloved dog Molly.

Sonya is survived by her daughter Janelle Hyatte of Ft. Worth, TX., one brother Eugene Sexton and wife Carol of Wichita, KS., six grandchildren Tyler, Ryan, Michael, Bryant, Carleen, Reed and two great-grandchildren.

Sonya is preceded in death by her husband Walter Lee Pettit, one daughter Michelle Bruno, two sister's Tonya & Sherry, and great-grandmother Gran Cook.
