Sybil Maxine Bass, 78, of Canadian, Oklahoma, peacefully passed from this life on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. Sybil was born on August 10, 1947, in Scipio, Oklahoma, to Albert and Lucille (Collier) Key. She graduated from Checotah High School. Sybil lived a life characterized by love, dedication, and community spirit.

A woman of strong faith, Sybil was a devout member of the Baptist Church, where her values and character were nurtured. On September 3, 1965, she united in marriage with Kenneth Bass at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Checotah, Oklahoma. Their bond was a testament to love's enduring power, marked by shared joys and challenges over the decades.

In her professional life, Sybil was recognized for her commitment and diligence. She devoted fifteen years as a Customer Service Manager, ensuring that those she served felt valued and respected. Her career also included twelve years as a manager for KPL Gas and time spent as a bank teller, showcasing her adaptability and unwavering dedication to her work.

Sybil leaves behind a legacy of kindness and resilience that will forever be remembered by her family and all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her contributions and spirit will be cherished by the community she so lovingly served.

Sybil is survived by her husband Kenneth of the home, son Brian K. Bass and wife Felicia of Trussville, AL, a sister Deloris Key, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Sybil is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Lucy Key, brothers Otis Key, James Key and Donald Key and a sister Susan (Key) Nichols.
