Thomas Wolfe Buchanan Jr.

Thomas Wolfe Buchanan Jr., aged 84, of Stroud, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Stroud Regional Hospital. Born on July 24, 1941, in Modesto, California, Thomas was the beloved son of Wolfe Thomas Buchanan Sr. and Leona Belle (Thomas) Buchanan.

Thomas served in the army for 4 years before marrying the love of his life. On January 14, 1964, Thomas united in marriage with Delores Stokes in Cushing, Oklahoma. He dedicated many years to his work as a truck driver before retiring in 1992. Thomas was a man of diverse talents and interests; he was especially skilled in knife making, leather working, and gunsmithing. He also took great joy in restoring the family BMW motorcycle.

A devoted member of the Chapel of Faith Church, Thomas shared his love of music by playing in the praise and worship group with his son TJ. His faith in Jesus and his generous spirit were central to his life, touching all who knew him.

Thomas is lovingly survived by his wife, Delores; his brother, Randy Buchanan; sister, Cathy Mitchell; stepson Charles Lee and Carol Smith; daughter-in-law, Alona Buchanan; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wolfe Thomas Buchanan Sr. and Leona Belle Buchanan; his brother, Carl Buchanan; sister, Joyce Lawrence; daughter, Lisa Clayton; stepson Troy Eugene Smith and son, Thomas “TJ” Buchanan.

We remember Thomas for his kindness, his talents, and his unwavering love for family and faith. His memory will be cherished by all whose lives he touched.
