Travis Odell Buie was born on January 26, 1936, in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, to James Manley and Josephine Leflore (Long) Buie. He grew up in Eufaula, Patrick and the surrounding communities. He graduated from Eufaula High School in the Class of 1954. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the Army. He served during the Vietnam War. He retired on January 1, 1976. After retiring he built a home for his mother and cared for her during her later years in Eufaula. Travis had many hobbies. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He liked going to Muskogee and playing cards and dominoes with the family there. He enjoyed gardening and enjoyed astronomy. He always had a thirst for knowledge and was always striving to learn new things. Travis is most known for being the "Favorite" uncle. He loved and spoiled all of his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Victor Buie, James Buie, baby boy Buie, Syble (Buie) Shropshire and Mable Doris Buie. and nephew Ronald Weeks and niece Barbara Morris. He is survived by 9 nieces and nephews and multiple extended family members and friends.
