Willard Ray Downum

Willard Ray Downum, 82, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma peacefully passed from this life on Monday, February 23, 2026 in St. Joseph, Missouri surrounded by family. Willard was born on August 31, 1943 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Willis Willard Downum and Frankie (Smith) Downum. Willard was of the Christian faith. Willard married Katherine Mitchell on January 13, 1965 in Stigler, Oklahoma and together they shared fifty-five years of marriage until her passing in 2020. Willard worked for the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Tuska. He enjoyed playing a game of golf, bowling and watching his favorite, NASCAR racing.

Willard is survived by his daughter; Melissa Mitchell, his sister; Leola Holdeman and four grandchildren.

Willard is preceded in death by his parents; Willis Willard Downum and Frankie Downum, his wife; Katherine Downum, his sons; Kevin and Darrell Downum and one brother; Elmer Downum.
